Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, President of Sakarya University, released a message for “April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day”

President Elmas in his message states:

“Turkish Grand National Assembly was founded on April 23, 1920 and became the sign of the days brightening our future.

Turkish people achieved the miracle of War of Independence and the Grand National Assembly shaped the struggles for gaining independency through its decisions.

Turkish Grand National Assembly is both the life source and the essential institution of democracy and national sovereignty. This institution presented the Republic which is a superior regime to our nation.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk showed the importance he gave to the world peace when he presented April 23 to the children. April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day is the only children festival celebrated with children from all around the world. This festival enables to share peace among children of the world.

Today, the common dream of the humanity is to live in a peaceful world. Being aware of the responsibility to raise children in a lovely environment, I celebrate all children’s April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
