Prof. Dr. Elaine P. Maimon, President of Governors State University visited Sakarya University on April, 30 – May, 5.
President of Governors State University, Prof. Dr. Elaine P. Maimon, visited Sakarya University on April, 30 – May, 5. Prof. Dr. Maimon who came SAU as a guest of Rector of Sakarya University, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, paid a visit for corporation in quality process and faculty member exchange.
Stating that SAU has great achievements in quality processes and proves it with the awards, Prof. Dr. Maimon said “Sakarya University takes the first place among European Universities in terms of quality processes and studies. All the works they’ve done are worthy of commendation. I believe that both universities will gain great success in quality processes and in the cooperation between Sakarya University and our university.”
20 faculty members have the opportunity to attend language course in two months duration as a result of collaboration protocol between Governors State University and Sakarya University. In addition to this, some negotiations took place about the issue of 3+1 Education project and a common arrangement was decided to be made in the related project.
Who is Prof. Dr. Elaine P. Maimon?
Prof. Dr. Elanie P. Maimon is the fifth president of Governors State University which is one of the leading universities in USA. Dr. Maimon is the convener of the Council of Illinois Public University Presidents and Chancellors and is a member of the Illinois state-wide Complete College Task Force. Dr. Maimon has conducted several studies in order to define higher education again in the 21st century. Furthermore, Dr. Maimon has developed a strategic plan in order to provide transparency in the ongoing budget decisions and allowed university academic and administrative staff, and students to advise on budget decisions from tuition-setting to revenue-sharing. She is a nationally elected Board Member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).
