Graduation Ceremony

Sakarya University (SAU) Graduation Ceremony was held at Sakarya Atatürk Stadium with participation of parents.

Sakarya Governor Mustafa Büyük, Members of parliament for Sakarya Hasan Ali Çelik, Ayşenur İslam, Ali İhsan Yavuz, Engin Özkoç, Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor Orhan Usta, Serdivan Mayor Yusuf Alemdar, Şenpiliç Honorary President Haşim Gürdamar, academicians and parents of students attended the ceremony. President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated students and extended their best wishes by sending message.

The ceremony started with lighting a graduation torch by SAU students who are also national sportsmen. SAITEM, technology society gaining lots of success, marched through the stage and was followed by students behind.

In his speech, Rector of Sakarya University Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas congratulated all graduating students and expressed his thanks to academic staff and parents who contributed to this success. Rector Elmas underlined that SAU is a great family and said that many famous names graduated from that university, like President Abdullah Gül.

Rector Elmas highlighted that Sakarya University has progressed day by day and stated “The University has become a prominent institution with its modern campus, technological infrastructure, education and research opportunities. Moreover, the University stands as model for other institutions by following the recent global changes and improvements. In its 21^st year, our university has become an outstanding institution with 65.000 students, 2.500 personnel, 325 different departments, distance education and certificate programs. In addition, it is aimed that number of foreign students, which is about 1000 from 40 different countries, will be increased.”

Elmas said “I believe that you will be successful in any part of the world by using your knowledge and qualifications. The duty for changing the future is yours.”

Şenpiliç Honorary President Haşim Gürdamar made a speech in the ceremony and gave good news related to budget of Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences.

After the speeches, successful graduates were awarded by Sakarya Governor Mustafa Büyük.
Graduates tossed their caps into the air at the end of the graduation ceremony and enjoyed with music performed by DJ.
