‘Axiology Workshop’ was organized at Sakarya University.

‘Axiology Workshop’ took place in SAU Institute of Social Sciences on Friday, May 18 with cooperation of Turkish Philosophical Association, SAU Institute of Social Sciences and Faculty of Theology. In the workshop titled “Do our values change?” axiology was discussed.

Prof. Dr. H. Mehmet Günay, Dean of Faculty of Theology, made an opening speech and wished a successful workshop.

In the first session of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Recep Kaymakcan, Faculty Member of SAU Faculty of Theology, gave presentation titled “Contributions of Axiology to Education of Values”. During the discussion time of the session, “relation of religion-morality”, “local values” and “universal values” were talked over.

In the second session of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Çetinkaya, Faculty Member of SAU Faculty of Theology, gave presentation titled “Anatomy of Younger Generation: ‘Valueless Identity”. During the discussion time of the session, relation between social change and change in values was pointed out.

In the last session, Prof. Dr. Ali Durusoy, Faculty Member of Marmara University Faculty of Theology, gave presentation titled “Is ‘value’ worth to value?” The discussion was about the question of “what is the limit of morality and value?”
