Turkish Feast was organized by Sakarya University Turkish Teaching, Application and Research Centre. 

Sakarya Deputy Governor Recep Uzal, SAU President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Vice President Prof. Dr. Musa Eken, Dean of Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Firdevs Karahan, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Daşçıoğlu, Director of Institute of Educational Sciences Prof. Dr. İsmail Güleç, academicians and students attended the event which was held at SAU Culture and Congress Centre.

In the event, President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas said “Number of foreign students was 215 three years ago. Now, this number is 500. Next year, we will accept 1200 students. We are planning to increase this number to 4000 in 3-4 years. Through the increasing numbers, volunteer representatives of our university and Turkey will come forward. The friendships and culture sharing here is important for our country’s future.”

Director of Turkish Teaching, Application and Research Centre (TOMER) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altun said “We have taught 364 students from 73 different countries Turkish language and culture. I thank to our university, Metropolitan Municipality, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Yedi Renk Association for their support in this process.”

In the feast, Muhammed Kazam, a student of TOMER, said “We would like to thank to Sakarya University and Turkish Republic which support our education.”

In the event, students sang Turkish songs and read poems. At the end of the program, students performed local dances.
