SAU Committee Attends Higher Learning Commission Annual Conference

Sakarya University President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas attended “Higher Learning Commission Annual Conference” held in Chicago, USA.

Sakarya University President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Vice President Prof. Dr. M. Ali Yalçın, Vice President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak and Dean of Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Aytekin İşman attended “Higher Learning Commission Annual Conference” which was held in Chicago, USA on 10-14 April, 2014.

The conference which is the biggest organization in the field of higher education welcomed over 4000 participants. President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas gave information about quality in SAU in the conference in which about 2000 paper were presented.

Education systems, teaching methods, testing and evaluation in education, ethics, quality, accreditation and management systems were discussed in the conference. Besides, some issues like university management systems, credit process of prior learning and promoting student motivation were discussed.

Following the conference, SAU members visited Northern Illinois University which has been awarded as the best university of Illinois. President Elmas obtained information about quality and accreditation processes of the university and he presented some information about accreditation in SAU and SABIS program.
