A meeting with Heads of Undergraduate Programs was organized, headed by Rector of Sakarya University, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas
The meeting was held in order to determine principles of the changes in course contents and curriculum of undergraduate programs in Sakarya University in 2013-2014 Academic Year. Directors of the Institutes, Deputy Directors, Deans, Vice Deans, Directors of Schools and Heads of Undergraduate programs attended the meeting, headed by Rector of SAU, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas.
Rector Elmas said “Our biggest aim is to be accredited by all universities in the world for course contents. We have close relationship with other universities so that our students coming from abroad can have no problem about course equivalence. As a result of our internal studies, we will accept that our student who studies abroad took the course even if the course contents do not match completely. Many students refuse to go abroad through exchange programs because of this obstacle. From now on, our students will have the opportunity to study in every country they want.”
Rector Elmas added “Fall term will start on September 23, 2013 and finish on January 5, 2014. Spring term will start on February 24, 2014 and finish on May 31, 2014.”
Rector Elmas stated that they observed decrease in performance of students in final examination period due to spring festival which lasts for one week. He said that they did not think about cancelling the festival but they planned to change the concept of it by organizing just one concert and science festival.
Prof. Dr Aytekin İşman underlined that internal evaluation meetings were organized in 2012-2013 Academic Year in Sakarya University. İşman said “We noted down negative and positive feedback. We will do our best to face with less problems and more positive responses hereafter.”
