Finance Symposium Held at SAU

29th Finance Symposium hosted by Sakarya University was held at Antalya.

29th Finance Symposium titled “Control in Public Finance” which was organized by Department of Finance, SAU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was held at Antalya on May 16-20, 2014. İsmail İlhan Hatipoğlu, General Director of Budget and Finance Control (BUMKO); Zekeriya Tüysüz and Ahmet Okur, Members from Chamber of Accounts; Osman Dereli, Vice Chairman of Public Oversight Authority and Mehmet Kaya attended the symposium lasting three days.

Prof. Dr. Fatih Savaşan, Head of Department of Finance in SAU thanked to his staff for their contribution in organizing this event. He also thanked to Sakarya University President for his support and said “Finance Symposium is one of the longstanding events among a few traditional scientific programs in Turkey.” In his speech, SAU President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas stated the deep sorrow for Soma disaster. Elmas talked about quality, informatics and program updating applications carried out in Sakarya University.

İsmail İlhan Hatipoğlu, General Director of BUMKO, evaluated recent improvements and said “I am so delighted to see main titles which are also important for Finance Ministry.”

In the symposium, papers were presented in the sessions of “Tax Auditing”, “Budget Control”, “Performance Auditing and External Auditing”, “Internal Auditing” and “Activity in Auditing.” Bureaucrats from Finance Ministry made contribution through panel of “Overview for Auditing” and Public Oversight Authority made contribution through panel of “Independent Audit.” The symposium was completed with “Symposium Plenary Session.”
